Vitra VG is the result of fanatical material
selection, such that this model cannot be mass produced.
Every board must be carefully selected for its
vertical grain, which represents less than 10% of the
available supply but it is highly desirable for saunas.
Our partners assist us in material selection based on
their advanced knowledge in key areas.
Vitra FG and Vitra MPG are both produced with flat
grain wood. Ninety percent of a sliced tree is flat
grain.
Ceramic Far Infrared Emitters
Each emitter is produced according to the worldwide standard for producing
ceramic far infrared emitters. An electricity-resistant filament is coiled
around a high-temperature glass rod, and held in position by a conductive
layer of magnesium oxide powder. A rod-shaped ceramic tube covers the
aforementioned like a sheath. It is this ceramic that the device will heat
up (to approximately 300 degrees Celcius) to produce a concentration and
intensity of far infrared rays that is sufficient for absorpsion into the
human body.
The length of the ceramic is 550 mm and the diameter is 18 mm. A reflective
casing reflects at least 87% of the rays from the rear of the emitter back
into the room so that as many rays as possible can be absorbed by the bather.
The width of this reflective housing is 116 mm.
